When I first read I am David, I got a sense of
nervousness and paranoia from David. I make the assumption that he is Jewish, because David is originally a Jewish name. I also think he was in a German labor camp during World War 2, before he escaped. Because he claims he was in the camp his whole life, he seems to know little of the world outside the camp.
