I Am David- First Impressions. Pearl Donzwa

The first few pages of the book have left my mind wondering. i ponder on where it is he could be escaping from and what could be so dreadful that, the man he has a passionate dislike for, would be giving him instructions to his freedom. As I read further and scan through the many places he could be, I come to the conclusion that he is a Jewish boy born in the WW2 era inside a concentration camp. He is unaware of life outside this camp but takes the 30 second chance he is given to escape.
