My first impression of David is vague, his situation and knowledge
of the outside world is very limited. The way he worries when thinking about
things other than getting away. He doubts others intentions at first but as he
gets away from the camp in which he was enslaved, he realises that “the man”
really did want him to get away. He then begins his travels across the land and
seas to a place where he “will be safe.”
