I am David. First impressions - Emma Oelschig

'I am David' is a book about a boy who was born in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. The book has been very informing about what it was like for a Jewish boy living in Nazi Germany. David was seperated from the only family he had left.

On his escape out of the concentration camp, he tries his best not to think about his loss and his life at the camp but he can't keep his miseries out of his head for long. He learnt a long time go to not focus or think about his life. The deepest thoughts he allowed himself to think were when his next meal was or when the guards changed. He kept himself from feeling pain but on his journey out of the camp, everything was different. He couldn't resist the thoughts that were kept in a box for most of his life.
