Dream World (Julia Brown)

Sleep - a time of peace when your body recharges and cleanses, and your brain fires itself up and processes masses of information collected from your various senses during the day. But, what does it do with this information? Store it in the back of your mind where it will never be thought of again? Or does it perhaps slip through your lips as a form of sleep talking? Or maybe, it brings those memories back to life in the form of a dream...

Dreams are merely successions of  various thoughts, images and memories passing through your mind during sleep. They can take you anywhere - whether it be to fairy-land, a deserted island, or even simply back to yesterday when you fell down the stairs. Dreams have power over you; they can force you to see vivid images of your most mortifying moments, or make you feel invincible as you summit Mount Everest. However, either way, dreams take you out of your comfort zone and place you into a whimsical world where you barely ever have a say over what your body does, or what your mouth says. You can only watch yourself from a birds eye view at your own form being destructive, or destroyed.

Have you ever seen a person in deep sleep and wondered what their subconscious mind was putting them through? Have you looked past their shut eyelids and wonder what was flashing through them? I know I have pondered on these exact thoughts. Dreams are beautiful, and we should not go to sleep at night afraid of the danger that awaits you in Dream World. Instead, we should be grateful that we get to experience adventures that defy gravity and reality, all while we are asleep.

  4. Amazing! It really made me think about my dreams and I have come to the conclusion that I don't dream watching myself from birds-eye view.
